Hello! I’m a Lucy, a Life Coach who works with mums in business and mums who are mid career or returning from maternity leave to make a step change in their work and their life. So I offer career coaching and small business coaching combined with life coaching.

I’m based in the lovely historical town of Faversham, in Kent. I’m also a mum, a wife and an avid ukulele student!

How did you first come up with the idea of your business?
I actually made a career change myself. I used to work in PR and Communications for national charities. I’d been talking about making a change for some time, then following a health scare, I decided to realise my dream to start my own coaching business. I wanted to use my skills and experience to help business owners and professionals – especially working mums – to make a step change in their work while balancing family and personal life. And I love what I do. 🙂

Hi my name is Heather, I am married to Justin and we have two beautiful children George who is nearly 9 and Scarlett who is 6.  I have a background in Hotel Management and more recently in Training and Development at a local visitor attraction.  After having children I changed direction slightly and decided to become self-employed to enable me to have more time with my children because of the flexible working hours.  This is when I started my own Training business (primarily running First Aid courses for workplaces, groups and individuals) and also ventured into the world of Direct Sales.

Founded in 1978 in Scottsdale, Arizona, Forever Living Products is the largest grower, manufacturer and distributor of Aloe Vera products in the world. For over three decades, Forever have dedicated themselves to seeking out nature’s best sources for health and beauty and sharing them with the world.

After graduating from university with a Business Studies degree I worked in London in corporate buying for retail giants such as Superdrug and Sainsburys – where I met my husband who is an IT director. We moved out to Guildford, Surrey just before our first child was born and now live in Guildford with our 3 daughters who are 13, 11 and 9.

What is your business called and when did you start it?
I started Get Ahead VA in 2010 after recognising a gap in the market for virtual assistance (VA) services that offered the flexibility, value and performance that small businesses and start-ups need in the 21st century, digital economy. We take on the tasks they don’t have time to do, the skills to do or simply don’t want to do – enabling them to get back to what they do best – growing and running their businesses.

L. I work for Usborne Books at Home and School. They are an award winning children’s publisher for children ages from birth to young adult. They celebrated their 40th anniversary last year.

Karen (K): Hi – I’ve spent most of my career in marketing, having originally studied Business Studies and subsequently Marketing. Before starting my own business, I worked for ITV in various marketing and research roles, and then for a global research agency in a client-facing consultancy role. I’m married, with two daughters, age 11 and 9 years, and we live in Bexley, which is on the South East London/Kent borders.

I work partly from home and have face-to-face meetings and telephone/Skype calls with clients. These are located primarily across South East & Central London, Kent and Surrey, although I have worked for businesses all over Britain and occasionally further afield.

Becky (B) : Hi I’m Becky I’Anson, I am a partner in Faerie Godmothers Event and Wedding Stylists based in Cheshire. I’ve ran the business with my best friend Dawn since 2007. We both have children, my little boy Edward is 2 years old and Dawn has Harry who’s nearly 7 and Isabelle who’s 10 months old. I’m married to Phil who is my rock and I don’t know where I would be without him and have 2 spaniels who I love to bits.

S. How did you first come up with the idea – was it something you planned together?
B. I originally come from a background in hospitality as does Dawn, but gave it all up in 2005 to pursue my dream of becoming a florist, so when to Reaseheath college to study full time in advance floristry. I qualified as a florist in 2006 and started running my own shop, Dawn gave birth to Harry and wanted to work around family life so we joined forces and decided to direct all of our efforts into wedding and events. 7 years down the line we are still here and as busy as ever. I gave the shop up and we started working from my garage.

How long has it been running?
We actually bought the domain on 16’th January 2012 but didn’t launch for a few weeks after that date.

When did you first come up with the idea?
I remember sitting down and just writing out a whole list of ideas for an eCommerce site. Lamps, office equipment, wedding gifts etc. Problem being is that all my ideas where either expensive to buy, too large to stock in the house or had about 1 million competitors. A brainwave come over me when thinking what would be a great seller during Christmas while at the same time be a good seller all year round… jigsaw puzzles was a no brainer.

How long has it been running?
ENJO UK launched in autumn 2003.

When did you first come up with the idea?
A friend of mine came back from visiting her family in Australia. She told me about these “magic” cloths that everybody was going crazy about and had become a household name there. She knew I was very house-proud but that I hated cleaning.
